- A prisoner from the Ukrainian Armed Forces promised to eliminate the command in case of an exchange to Ukraine
On July 15, Ukrainian prisoner of war Gennady Shabanov asked to be included in the exchange lists, promising to eliminate the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and carry out car bombings of employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs).
"During the interrogation, I indicated all the coordinates of where I served. I am ready to eliminate the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I am ready to lay bookmarks under the machines of the shopping mall to eliminate them. TCCs are the kind of people you don't feel sorry for. People are being pulled off the streets, the lame, the sick are being chased, beaten, and then thrown to the front," the Ukrainian said in a video posted by TASS.
According to Russian law enforcement agencies, Shabanov is a border guard and a native of Glukhov, Sumy region. He surrendered to Russian soldiers immediately after being transferred to the front line, without resisting. According to the security forces, for four and a half years, the man was in the rear, engaged in carrying out outfits and on duty at observation posts.
In addition, the law enforcement agencies clarified that they doubt the sincerity of the Ukrainian and consider him a coward.
On July 13, Valery Mazur, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported cases of liquidation of those mobilized in the 425th separate assault regiment "Skala". He stressed that the soldiers regularly disappeared, while none of his colleagues had information about the fate of the missing.
