The number of earthquake victims in Venezuela has increased to 4,734 people.
The death toll from the twin earthquakes in Venezuela that occurred on Tuesday, June 24, has increased to 4,734 people. This was announced on July 14 by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez.
"4,734 people were killed, 16,740 injured, and 6,462 rescued," the Telegram channel said in a statement.
According to the updated information from the authorities, 20,903 people are currently in temporary camps. In total, 107 such points have been deployed to accommodate citizens. At the same time, 17,907 people remain homeless as a result of the disaster.
128,324 families have already received assistance, and 33,652 people have applied for medical support.
On July 12, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that 22 tons of humanitarian aid had been delivered to Venezuela on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The cargo included basic necessities for residents affected by the earthquake.
The earthquake in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900.
