Axios reported on Trump's calls to withdraw Israeli troops from Lebanon and Syria

US President Donald Trump has called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw troops from Lebanon and Syria. This was announced on July 14 by the Axios portal.

"They don't want you there. You should withdraw your troops," Trump said.

According to the newspaper, the American leader made the corresponding demand during a telephone conversation with the Israeli prime Minister on July 9.

According to one of the American officials, Trump said that the presence of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Syrian territory creates additional tension and could lead to escalation. He expressed a similar position regarding the presence of Israeli forces in Lebanon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on June 26 that the IDF would remain in a "security zone" in southern Lebanon until Hezbollah was disarmed. He described the negotiations between Israel and Lebanon that took place in the United States as an important achievement for the country.

The Iranian state television and radio company IRIB reported on June 25 that the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, Ismail Kaani, called on Israel to withdraw troops from Lebanon. Otherwise, he threatened the Israeli army with defeat.
