Jet ski driver convicted of man's death in Kuban

In Gelendzhik, a verdict was passed against a jet ski driver who was found guilty of the death of a man. He was given a suspended sentence.

The incident occurred in August 2023 between Kabardinka and Gelendzhik. According to KrasnodarMedia news agency, the defendant made a dangerous maneuver and crossed the course of another jet ski. As a result of the collision, the driver of the second vessel was killed.

The court found the man guilty of violating the rules of safety and operation of a marine vessel. Taking into account the mitigating circumstances — the presence of a dependent minor child and assistance to the family of the deceased — he was sentenced to two years of probation.

In addition, the court recovered compensation for moral damage from the perpetrator in favor of the deceased's family in the amount of 3.75 million rubles.
