Interior Minister Klimenko was named the main candidate for the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Interior Minister of Ukraine Ihor Klimenko is the main candidate for the post of Defense Minister instead of Mikhail Fedorov. This was announced on Tuesday, July 14, by Verkhovna Rada deputy Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk in her Telegram channel.

"Igor Klimenko is the main candidate for the post of Defense Minister instead of Mikhail Fedorov. Ivan Vigovsky, the current head of the National Police, is seen as Klimenko's successor as Interior Minister," she wrote.

Fedorov, according to the deputy, may take up the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the country.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on July 12 that he plans to change the composition of the entire government of Ukraine and dismiss Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko. Sviridenko herself confirmed that she was leaving the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. She has been working in this position since July 17, 2025.
