The court did not consider reopening the case against Lercek. The main thing
The Gagarin Court of Moscow changed the address of blogger Lerchek (Valeria Chekalina), but the issue of reopening the criminal case on July 13 was not considered. According to the participant in the process, the relevant application has only been registered and will be considered later. All the details are in the Izvestia article.
The course of the court session
The court granted the petition of Valeria Chekalina's defense to change the address of her place of residence. This need arose due to the expiration of the lease period of the house, which the blogger indicated earlier when choosing a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions. The issue was considered in a closed mode from representatives of the press.
On the same day, the court was supposed to consider reopening the criminal case on the illegal withdrawal of more than 250 million rubles abroad. Chekalina arrived at the courthouse accompanied by her companion Luis Squicciarini, but the meeting did not take place. The participant in the process said that the petition had been registered, but it would be considered on another day. Earlier, the process was suspended after full payment of the tax debt in the amount of 175 million rubles.
The court also did not consider a new case against Valeria Chekalina. The court limited itself to resolving the issue according to the existing measure of restraint and clarifying the current location of the suspect.
The Gagarin Court of Moscow did not consider the issue of reopening the criminal case against Chekalina on July 13. This was reported to Izvestia by a participant in the trial. According to him, the relevant petition has been registered in court, but it will be considered on another day. The defendant has already left the courthouse and did not answer questions from journalists. The hearing was supposed to take place on July 10, but the hearing was postponed due to the non-appearance of Chekalina, who was undergoing treatment at the time.
The blogger's health status
Valeria Chekalina is undergoing treatment at the Blokhin National Medical Oncology Research Center. The blogger was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer during a routine check-up. Initially, doctors assumed she had renal colic. She is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy, using a special medical device for taking medications at home.
Despite her serious illness, Chekalina announced her intention to continue her active life. She stressed that she wants to prove by her example the possibility of overcoming the disease and continue the development of her projects.
"I want to prove that it is possible to live with stage four cancer, enjoy life and defeat it. I believe that I will do it," Chekalina said.
Business projects and financial issues
During her treatment, Chekalina worked on creating her own brand of women's clothing, LEA. She was personally involved in the design of the collections and the concept of the project. According to the company's representatives, work on the launch did not stop even during the difficult stages of therapy, as this project became a personal way of support for the blogger.
"I created clothes that are banally comfortable to live and move in — they carefully support every day. LEA is my dialogue with a woman, the support of her every special moment, like a soft embrace," Chekalina emphasized.
In order to fully repay the tax debt, the Chekalin family had to sell a country mansion. The house was purchased by lawyer Vladimir Kh. at a lower-than-market price. At the same time, a public conflict arose with Otar Kushanashvili, who questioned the blogger's illness, but lawyer Oleg Badma-Khalgaev denied information about the preparation of lawsuits against the journalist.
The change of the owner of the country house and the sale of the property at a price below the market allowed Chekalina to fully repay the tax debt. These measures helped the blogger avoid bankruptcy proceedings.
