The European Union is facing economic difficulties caused by low gas reserves and the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Iran. This was announced on July 13 by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

"How to move forward economically, because the whole of Europe is facing a difficult situation. Our gas reserves have never been so low. At the same time, look at this chaos around the Strait of Hormuz, Iran, the Americans, as well as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict," Vucic told reporters in Paris, as quoted by TASS.

In addition, the Serbian president noted that Europe is conducting large-scale armament of Ukraine, agreeing on the creation of joint defense capacities and supplying Kiev with modern equipment.

On July 3, Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou criticized the statement by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, about Russian gas supplies to Europe, calling her words absurd. The reason for the criticism was von der Leyen's statements during a visit to Baku, where she stated that Russia allegedly stopped gas supplies to Europe, using energy as an instrument of pressure.
