In Russia, the basic compulsory medical insurance program will be expanded

The basic compulsory medical insurance (CHI) program will be gradually expanded in Russia. This follows from a government document on July 14, which was reviewed by TASS.

A report on the results of work in the government is expected by 2027. The Russian Ministry of Health and the Federal Fund for Compulsory Medical Insurance have been appointed responsible for the implementation of this task.

It is specified that the FFMS was instructed to analyze the activities of territorial institutions in terms of the implementation of insurance programs, the implementation of medical care volumes and their distribution among organizations, taking into account the needs of citizens. In addition, the fund will analyze the activities of insurance organizations in terms of protecting the rights of customers, as well as assess the quality and conditions of providing them with assistance.

By 2027, the Ministry of Health and the Federal Medical Insurance Fund should jointly improve the principles of management in the health insurance system to ensure the financial stability of medical organizations. The departments will also be engaged in the development of the state information system of compulsory medical insurance.
