The State Duma proposed to increase compensation for housing and communal services for the disabled to 100%

Compensation for housing and communal services costs should be increased to 100% for people with disabilities and families with disabled children. This is evidenced on July 14 by a bill that will be submitted to the State Duma by the leader of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov.

"The draft federal law is aimed at increasing the level of compensation for expenses of disabled people and families with disabled children for housing, utilities and contributions for major repairs: from the current 50% to 100%," RIA Novosti quoted the text of the explanatory note to the bill.

According to Mironov, the innovation will help preserve affordable housing for people with disabilities and families with disabled children and strengthen trust in the social protection system. As the author of the bill noted, the initiative affects the interests of about 12 million people.

The government will submit a bill to the State Duma if the experiment is successful in 19 regions.

Ilya Wolfson, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, said on July 11 that going on vacation or to the country for more than five full days is a legitimate reason to reduce payments for housing and communal services, primarily for garbage collection. It is noted that the main condition is absence from home for more than five full days in a row, not counting the days of departure and return. Wolfson added that the reduction in payments primarily concerns municipal solid waste disposal services.
