American leader Donald Trump reacted positively to a gift from Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who handed a hockey puck to his colleague. This was announced on July 14 by Stephen Mao, an American producer and president of the Studio Mao film company.

The present was presented to the head of the White House a week after the conclusion of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which took place from June 3-6. The mediator was Rodney Mims Cook Jr., Chairman of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, who led the American delegation to the SPIEF.

"During this meeting, Rodney handed President Trump a hockey puck from Vladimir Putin. The President was extremely amused and appreciated the gesture. After that, <...> Presidents Trump and Putin talked on the phone for more than an hour and a half, discussing bilateral contacts and the negotiation process," Mao said in an interview with TASS.

The producer stressed that Cook Jr. enjoys the confidence of the head of the United States. According to Mao, the representative of the commission is able to play an active role in promoting the peace process, going beyond the current cultural projects.
