For the first time, the US military used unmanned kamikaze attack boats against Iran. This was announced on July 13 by the press service of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM).

"Yesterday, using several attack surface drones, the forces of the US Central Command successfully attacked a submarine and ship maintenance facility in Iran," X said in a statement on the social network.

It is noted that three Corsair unmanned surface boats were used in the operation, which successfully entered the port of the Bandar Abbas naval base and struck the facility. CENTCOM added that the attack deprived Iran of the opportunity to continue attacks on commercial vessels.

According to the Central Command, the operation was effective and the facility was disabled, ensuring the safety of commercial vessels in the region. In the future, it is planned to continue using unmanned boats to protect maritime communications and protect the interests of the United States.

On July 13, CENTCOM announced the resumption of the blockade of Iranian ports from July 14. It was noted that the American forces will begin to block shipping on the approaches to Iranian ports and coastal areas.
