Instead of a complete ban on video games, attention should be paid to monitoring their content and the messages they carry. This was announced on July 13 by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova.

"I'm in favor of having video games, they made a whole fake against me on the Internet, <...> that I'm in favor of a ban. By no means am I advocating a ban on video games, <...> there are a lot of value-based games, I have always supported domestic manufacturers. <...> That's what I'm against: when there's a schoolshooting mission in the game, when a child has to come to school, kill the children and teachers, and move on. But plunging into such a game, someone may think that this is normal," TASS reports her words.

On April 24, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for combating cybercrime reported that loot boxes in video games are increasingly being considered by experts as mechanics similar to gambling practices. According to the agency, teenagers are most often interested in them.

The head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, announced on March 27 that the agency had developed a package of initiatives aimed at stimulating the production of computer games. The package of measures includes support for the creation of new projects, easier export procedures, and tools to promote Russian games on the global market.
