The IRGC announced an attack on a US ammunition base in Kuwait

Iran launched missile strikes on the base of the US Armed Forces (AF) in Kuwait, where ammunition for air defense systems was stored. This was announced on July 13 by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"In the fourth stage of the retaliation operation, soldiers of the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck a missile base belonging to the American army and used to attack civilians. <...> Two HIMARS rocket launchers and warehouses filled with missiles were completely destroyed," the IRNA news agency quoted a statement on its Telegram channel.

The IRGC also stressed that they consider these actions to be a counteroffensive in response to American aggression. The Iranian military department also pointed out that the issues of the Strait of Hormuz are under the jurisdiction of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran and are not subject to discussion with third parties.

Naval glitch: exchange of blows between the US and Iran risks becoming protracted

The issue of passage through the Strait of Hormuz has temporarily overshadowed even the issue of Tehran's nuclear program.

Earlier in the day, the Iranian TV channel PressTV reported that Iran launched missile strikes on the American base of Muwaffaq Salti in Jordan in response to the US attacks on Iranian territory. The Fars news agency also reported that the aerospace forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked targets at the Sheikh Isa airbase in Bahrain.
