Filimonov's colleagues noted his professionalism and leadership on projects.
Vladimir Filimonov, creative producer of REN TV, head of the Film and TV Series production directorate, was the leader of every project he worked on. Director, actor, and producer Andrei Tartakov told Izvestia about this on July 12.
"He managed to do incredible things, he delved into every detail, he was a leader on every project. Well, besides that, he was a wonderful man just. Naive in some ways, completely sincere in others. And if he didn't like it, he'd tell me I didn't like it. If he liked it, he was as happy as a child," he said at the farewell ceremony with Filimonov.
Tartakov added that he had been working on projects with the creative producer of REN TV for about seven years and during that time "got a buzz" from working together. He called Filimonov's death terrible news.
Producer and director Tim Shevtsov said that Filimonov was an old-school professional and an implacable defender of his channel.
"We had frequent arguments about some topics. We were right somewhere, and he was right more often than not. But it has always been beneficial to the project, the channel, and art in general. He was, of course, a professional, and we will miss him very much," Shevtsov said.
According to him, Filimonov was a man with taste and kept up with the times, so he was able to reveal various topics "without excessive pretense and pathos."
"The viewer has always, as can be seen from the ratings of these projects, <...> watched projects led by Filimonov with interest," Shevtsov concluded.
Earlier that day, a farewell to Vladimir Filimonov took place at the morgue of the N. V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine. Alexey Anisimov, Senior editor of the REN TV Film Production Directorate, noted the joie de vivre of the creative producer and pointed out his amazing artistic taste. Vladimir Stankevich, a surgeon and medical consultant, said that Filimonov was a very sincere, honest and kind person whose work with the team was admired.
Anatoly Tupitsyn, Deputy General Director of REN TV, producer, emphasized that Filimonov was able to create formats beloved by the audience. Director, screenwriter and producer Alexander Kasatkin added that Filimonov was always sensitive to the interests of the audience and sincerely worried about each of his work. According to him, it was interesting to cooperate with the creative producer because of his caring attitude.
Vladimir Filimonov passed away on Thursday, July 9th. His contribution to the development of Russian television production has become an era, and his filmography has included many landmark projects that have become popular with millions of viewers.
Among the producer's works are such films as "The Specials", "Evil", "Operation Neman", "The ZIG ZAG Gang", "Varyag", "Fathers", "The Fugitive" and "Drastic Measures". He also worked on the projects "Operation Carpathians — 1, 2", "SMERSH. Continuation", "SMERSH 3", "SMERSH 4", "Smashing ray", "On the trail of the beast", "Dear Willy", "Rooks", "Treasures of the Scythians" and "Extreme measures".
