The UKMTO reported an attack on a container ship off the coast of Oman

The GFS GALAXY container ship, located in the waters off the coast of Oman, was attacked, resulting in a fire there. This was announced on July 12 on the website of the Office of Maritime Trade of Great Britain (UKMTO).

"The UKMTO has received a report of an incident nine nautical miles east of Oman. The military authorities reported that the container ship suffered damage to the stern of the vessel, which caused a fire on board," the statement said.

Later, local authorities helped 23 crew members of the attacked vessel to evacuate, and a search is underway for one missing person. In parallel, an investigation has been launched.

The UKMTO also urged those who plan to follow the route where the attack took place to be careful and report any suspicious activity.

On July 7, the UKMTO also reported an attack on one of the tankers off the coast of Oman. It was noted that he was hit by an unknown projectile, which also caused a fire on board. Then the victims and damage to the environment were avoided. On the same day, the British Board of Trade advised all vessels to remain vigilant.
