A schoolboy from Moscow won the International Physics Olympiad in Colombia

Ivan Pruglo, an 11th grade graduate of Moscow School No. 179, won a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Colombia on July 11. This was announced on July 11 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"Congratulations to Ivan on another brilliant victory! I wish you unlimited courage to continue setting the most ambitious goals for yourself — in your studies, profession, and life," the mayor wrote on the Maks messenger.

It is noted that prior to this, the student had already become the winner of the Asian Physics Olympiad, the Open International Olympiad in Astronomy and the finals of the All-Russian Olympiad of Schoolchildren in Physics and Astronomy.

At the same time, this year Russia was represented at the Olympics by five people who competed with students from over 90 countries.

On July 2, the Russian national team became the absolute champion of the International Cybersecurity Olympiad (ICO) among high school students. The national team won four medals, and one of its participants became the absolute winner of the Olympics in the individual competition. Moscow schoolchildren Daniil Melekhov, Nikolai Belousov and Artyom Rumyantsev received gold medals in the individual competition. Roman Cheremnykh from Kazan won the bronze award.
