The State Duma recalled the possibility of reducing the housing and communal services fee during the holidays

Going on vacation or to the country for a period of more than five full days is a legitimate reason to reduce payments for housing and communal services, primarily for garbage collection. This was announced on July 11 by Ilya Wolfson, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"Many citizens do not know that going on vacation or to the country is a legitimate reason to reduce utility bills. The mechanism is clearly spelled out in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 354," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is noted that the main condition is absence from home for more than five full days in a row, not counting the days of departure and return. Wolfson added that the reduction in payments primarily concerns municipal solid waste disposal services.

At the same time, regarding water, gas and sanitation, the fee is charged only if it is not possible to install meters, which must be confirmed by an official act. If the meters are installed, the citizen pays for the actual consumption. In any case, it is necessary to pay for heating, housing maintenance and major repairs, since these costs do not depend on the presence.

According to the deputy, in order to return the money, a citizen can apply before departure or within 30 days after returning by contacting a management company or a resource organization. The application must be accompanied by documents confirming the absence of the house: tickets, receipts from the hotel, vouchers or a certificate from the chairman of the garden association, informs "Газета.Ru ".

On July 4, Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, recalled that Russian citizens have the right to pay for housing and communal services for June until July 15. As the parliamentarian noted, although the problem of total debt is not acute — most citizens pay on time — new deadlines are important for people's financial well-being.
