A man who took a woman hostage in a Berlin supermarket was neutralized

A man who took a woman hostage in a supermarket in southern Berlin has been neutralized. This was reported on July 11 by the German N-TV channel with reference to the press secretary of the city police Florian Nath.

"Good news has come: the captor who had been holding the woman since Friday evening has been neutralized, and the hostage has been released," the text says.

As a result of the actions of law enforcement agencies, the attacker received minor injuries, with which he was hospitalized. The released woman, who turned out to be a cashier, was also taken to the medical facility.

Details about the identity of the neutralized have not yet been disclosed. Nat clarified that during the hours-long negotiations with the police, he made various demands. The motives of the invader, who had not previously had any relations with the victim, remain unclear.

It became known that a man was holding a woman in one of Berlin's supermarkets on Hildburghauserstrasse on the same day. It was noted that the area near the building where the incident was recorded was cordoned off. The police, ambulance and firefighters arrived at the place.
