Sandu has nominated businessman Tofan for the post of Prime Minister of Moldova

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has nominated businessman Vasile Tofan as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of the country. The Moldovan leader announced this at a press conference on July 11.

"Following discussions with the parliamentary factions that took part in the consultations, and based on the goals and priorities of the Republic of Moldova, I decided to nominate Mr. Vasile Tofan as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova," Sandu said. NewsMaker.md .

The nomination ceremony was attended by Tofan himself, as well as the Chairman of the Parliament and the leader of the ruling Action and Solidarity (PAS) party, Igor Grosu.

"I will do everything in my power to meet the expectations of Moldovan citizens. I intend to start work as soon as possible," Tofan said.

He noted that he does not consider his nomination an achievement, but perceives it as a great responsibility. According to the entrepreneur, the restoration of citizens' trust in state institutions and the renewal of the republic's economic system will be among the priorities.

As noted by NewsMaker.md Tofan is a businessman, co-founder of the civil movement "Europe 2028" and an investor in the Horizon Capital Fund, which specializes in investments in Ukraine and Moldova. Previously, Tofan worked in international consulting and technology companies, and also serves on the boards of directors of a number of Moldovan organizations and media companies.
