The government has allocated more than 4.3 billion rubles to support Crimean travel companies

The Russian government has allocated more than 4.3 billion rubles to support tourism companies in Crimea and Sevastopol, which are facing a decrease in tourist flow. The corresponding decree was published on the government's website on July 11.

"The government will provide financial support to the tourism companies of Crimea and Sevastopol, which find themselves in a difficult situation due to a decrease in the tourist flow due to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the press service said in a statement.

According to the order, Crimea will receive 3.726 billion rubles, Sevastopol — 584.587 million rubles, the newspaper clarifies.Ru». The total amount of financing will amount to 4.31 billion rubles. According to the government, the funds are provided for one-time payments to employees of more than 4,600 enterprises of the tourism industry.

The document was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The funds will be allocated by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development from the government's reserve fund as part of the national Tourism and Hospitality project.

The Ministry of Economic Development, together with the authorities of Crimea and Sevastopol, must conclude agreements on the provision of subsidies within 30 calendar days after the issuance of the decree, as well as submit a report to the government by February 1, 2027 on the targeted and effective use of the allocated funds.

The regional authorities have banned the booking and accommodation of schoolchildren in camps and hotels until the end of the summer.

The Russian Red Cross yesterday announced an increase in humanitarian aid supplies in Crimea and Sevastopol under emergency conditions. Supplies have already been formed on the peninsula, including 800 food packages, 700 hygiene kits, 43 tons of drinking water, as well as rehabilitation equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches.

The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, announced on June 26 that the authorities of the peninsula and Sevastopol had decided to introduce a regional emergency regime. He explained that these measures are being introduced primarily to resolve economic issues.
