Romanian military personnel have identified and destroyed five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Black Sea. This was announced on July 10 by the Acting Minister of Defense of the country Radu Mirutse.

"The remains of five more drones were found at sea, which were then destroyed," the Digi24 TV channel quoted him as saying.

The acting head of the Romanian Ministry of Defense clarified that it later became clear that several drones contained explosives, and in some the corresponding component was missing.

Five days earlier, a marine drone detonated in the waters of the Romanian civilian port of Constanta, which, as it turned out later, was Ukrainian, and the incident itself occurred due to the loss of control over it.

Against this background, on July 7, Mirutse appealed to Kiev to provide its UAVs with the ability to self-destruct if they accidentally enter the territorial waters of Romania for any reason.
