Over the past day, 292 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 29 people were killed and 349 injured. This was reported to Izvestia on July 10 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. 23 of the dead were passengers and drivers, the ministry said.

14 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, however, 20 road users, including two minors, required medical assistance. Half of the bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

As a result of 58 accidents, 21 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 37 outside their area of operation, 53 pedestrians, including 12 children, were injured in various degrees of severity, while five minor pedestrians were injured while crossing the roadway in designated places.

Over the past day, 56 accidents involving children and teenagers were registered, in which 62 young road users were injured, including 33 passengers and five motor transport drivers. Three child passengers were killed.

In the Tver region, in the early morning on the federal highway M-10 "Russia", the driver of a passenger car, having fallen asleep at the wheel, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a KAMAZ truck, after which the truck left the road. The driver of the car and all three of his passengers were killed in the accident, including two children — a 14-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son, who were riding in the back seat of the car in compliance with all necessary age-appropriate safety measures. It was established that before the accident, the driver was driving without sleep for more than a day.

In the Kursk region, on the Konyshevka — Makaro — Petrovskoye regional highway, an inexperienced 18-year-old passenger car driver who received a driver's license a little over a month ago pulled over with his right wheels to the side of the road, after which the car was carried into the oncoming lane, where it collided tangentially with a minivan and another passenger car. As a result of an accident in the car of the culprit of the collision, a 15-year—old passenger, the sister of a young motorist, who was in the back seat with a seat belt at the time of the incident, was killed. The young man at the wheel and his other passenger, as well as the 41-year-old driver and passenger of the third passenger vehicle involved in the accident, received one-time medical assistance.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that the life and health of other road users, including passengers, depend on your skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior of the driver. When traveling long distances, it is necessary to monitor the correct alternation of driving and rest modes, the department emphasizes.

"Take your time to get to the final destination of your route as quickly as possible, and at the slightest sign of fatigue, stay overnight at a hotel for a good night's sleep. As a last resort, relax for a few hours inside your car, having previously parked it in a safe place. Never set out tired, or even with mild symptoms of malaise — the road does not forgive such mistakes," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

On the same day, as a result of an accident with a truck and a bus in Moscow, 25 people were injured. According to preliminary data, the van collided with a bus, which hit the sidewalk, where it crashed into an obstacle.
