Slyusar: it will not be possible to quickly extinguish a fire in the port of Taganrog

It is impossible to eliminate the fire that broke out in the seaport of Taganrog after an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in a short time, it will take several days. The Governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, made such an appeal to the residents of the region on July 10.

He also asked people to understand the authorities' decision to evacuate the nearby area.

"This is solely for their safety. The houses are located within the boundaries of the emergency. We will have to wait a few days before returning to our homes," Slyusar said in his Telegram channel.

After visiting the emergency site, Slyusar was able to talk to the evacuees at the temporary accommodation facility, where 44 people, including seven children, are staying.

A fire train arrived at the Taganrog seaport to eliminate the fire. According to Slyusar, there is enough foam to extinguish petroleum products. A local emergency regime has been introduced in the city.

The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported on July 10 that a fire broke out on the territory of the Ilsky oil refinery as a result of falling drone debris. In addition, fragments of drones fell at several addresses in the village of Severskaya.

Slyusar said that in Azov, Rostov region, as a result of a drone attack, a fire broke out at two oil products storage facilities.
