At least 1 million women have been left without humanitarian aid over the past year

At least one million women and girls have lost access to life-saving humanitarian aid over the past year due to cuts in funding for UN programs. This follows from a report by UN Women, which was reported by Reuters on July 10.

According to the report, almost 90% of women's humanitarian organizations can no longer meet needs on the ground, despite a significant increase in demand since January 2025, following the sharpest drop in aid funding on record.

The reduction in aid creates critical gaps in the humanitarian field, as these organizations are sometimes the only ones who can help women and girls in need, UN Women said.
