RUSADA reduced the period of disqualification of hockey player Kamenev to two years

The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has disqualified CSKA hockey forward Vladislav Kamenev for two years, accusing him of violating anti-doping criteria. This was announced on July 9 by the press service of the Clover Consult company representing the player's interests.

The lawyers noted that they intend to seek the athlete's full acquittal or an even greater reduction in the restrictions imposed on him.

"Instead of the maximum possible four-year suspension, the athlete was suspended for a period of two years. Despite the result achieved, we cannot call it unequivocally positive," the message on the company's Telegram channel reads.

The athlete tested positive for a doping test in March 2025, after which he was suspended from participating in sports competitions, Sport-Express recalls. Thus, taking into account the time already served, Kamenev will be able to take to the ice again in March 2027. The hockey player himself said he was not happy with the outcome of the hearing.

"Someone says that this is a good result against the background of possible outcomes, but I don't feel guilty about myself, and therefore it's hard for me to perceive this decision as positive. We are now waiting for the full text of the decision and will consider the possibility of appealing it in order to prove my innocence," the athlete wrote on his Telegram channel.

In March 2025, two-time Gagarin Cup winner Kamenev was suspended for violating anti-doping rules after a doping test revealed the presence of meldonium in his body. Kamenev joined CSKA Moscow in 2021. He has played in the National Hockey League with the Nashville Predators and the Colorado Avalanche.
