More than 3.5 million tourists have visited Sochi since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2026, Sochi has received more than 3.5 million tourists. There are currently 160,000 guests at the resort. The hotel occupancy rate is 78%.

Such data were announced at a meeting of the city's operational headquarters for the preparation and conduct of the summer season. It was conducted by Deputy head of the administration Sergey Somko.

According to him, quoted by KrasnodarMedia news agency, in July, despite all the modern challenges, the tourist flow increased slightly. The sea has warmed up, which is important for families with children. The main block of preferences within the framework of the "Choose Sochi 2020" concept is aimed at this category. 75 industry facilities have updated their special offers for the summer months. The main task is to provide free rest to the guests.

Since the beginning of the year, Rospotrebnadzor has taken about 3.5 thousand samples of seawater off the coast of Sochi. All of them comply with the standards. Beaches are monitored every day. The epidemiological situation in the city is assessed as stable.

Earlier it was reported that Kaliningrad topped the ranking of the most popular domestic travel destinations in July, while Istanbul became the leader among foreign routes. These are the conclusions reached by the analysts of the Kupibilet service. Kaliningrad turned out to be an absolute favorite among Russian destinations. It accounted for more than twice as many bookings as the runner-up Sochi. The average cost of a one-way flight to Kaliningrad was 12.96 thousand rubles. Sochi is on the second line, where an average ticket cost travelers 22.23 thousand rubles. Makhachkala rounded out the top three with an average flight cost of 13.11 thousand rubles.
