The forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a ballistic missile attack on the American Al-Azraq airbase in Jordan. This was announced on July 9 by the State Television of Iran (IRIB).

"The enemy's command center in West Asia and the Jordanian Al-Azraq airbase were hit by 10 ballistic missiles," the broadcaster's Telegram channel said.

It is noted that the IRGC's press service also issued a warning: if the "aggression" by the US military continues, other US bases in the region will not be spared new powerful fire strikes.

On the same day, the IRGC reported that the Armed Forces of Iran, during a preventive operation, defeated terrorist groups supported by the United States and Israel that were preparing attacks in the southeast and northwest of the country.

On July 9, the central command of the US Armed Forces announced the completion of a series of strikes against targets in Iran. The first was conducted the day before in the Strait of Hormuz in response to the alleged attacks by the Islamic Republic. Bloomberg clarified that shipping in Hormuz had almost stopped after the US strikes.
