In Poland, a 19-year-old Ukrainian was beaten because of speaking in his native language

A crowd of young Polish citizens beat up a 19-year-old Ukrainian in the Polish city of Wroclaw for speaking Ukrainian. This was reported on July 9 by Radio Wroclaw.

"He was talking to his mother on the phone in Ukrainian, and he was beaten for it. 19-year—old Vladimir and his parents urge witnesses of the brutal attack to report the incident to the police," the article says.

A group of about 10 people attacked a Ukrainian on July 4 on the island of Slodova. The article notes that the incident occurred in the afternoon with "numerous witnesses." According to journalists, the victim's nose was broken and he suffered a spinal injury.

"After that, they laughed at him," the authors of the article noted.

The victim said that after talking on the phone in Ukrainian, a peer approached him and rudely demanded to give him an electronic cigarette. When he refused, the man whistled, calling the others together, after which a fight began.

The police and ambulance were called to the scene by friends of the Ukrainian. The criminals fled after hearing the sirens of the arriving emergency services.

On June 28, Wprost magazine reported that a mass brawl between Ukrainians and Poles took place near the Lubyanka reservoir in Starachowice, in southeastern Poland, which later escalated into a stabbing. A criminal case has been opened into the incident in accordance with Article 158 of the Criminal Code of Poland ("Participation in a fight").
