The Moscow court declared the radio station "Echo of Moscow" bankrupt

The Moscow Arbitration Court declared the radio station of CJSC Echo of Moscow bankrupt. This is stated on July 9 in the case file at the disposal of Izvestia.

Now the company is awaiting liquidation as part of the bankruptcy proceedings — the final stage of bankruptcy, during which the debtor's property is sold off, if it remains, the creditors are settled and the legal entity ceases to exist.

The procedure will follow a simplified scheme, which is applied when the organization is no longer actually operating and its management is absent or not involved in the process. In this case, the court immediately proceeds to the liquidation of the company, bypassing the stages of financial recovery and external management. The court appointed Igor Gorn as the bankruptcy trustee. The company's management is obliged to hand over accounting documents, seals, stamps and other property to him within three days.

Bankruptcy proceedings are open until January 2, 2027. During this time, the manager must establish what property the company has left, verify the creditors' claims and submit a report on the results of the procedure to the court.

In April 2022, the court recognized the blocking of Echo of Moscow as legitimate. In the same year, the Board of directors of Echo of Moscow decided to liquidate the radio channel and the website. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation demanded that access to Echo of Moscow be restricted as early as March 1, 2022. The ministry pointed out that the resource published false information about the actions of the Russian military as part of a special operation to protect Donbass.
