In three months, Russians have issued more than 3 million vacation insurance

In the second quarter of 2026, Russians issued more than 3 million vacation insurance policies. This is evidenced by the results of the Ingosstrakh and Mail research.

Accident insurance has become the leader of the segment — 95% of users choose it. At the same time, Russians are increasingly applying for specialized policies, for example, against tick bites, which is in demand for trips to regions with active natural tourism. Less than 10% of customers choose additional insurance options, including baggage and risk insurance for extreme sports.

The choice of insurance program is directly influenced by the geography of travel of Russians. In addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, Sochi is among the most popular destinations this summer, where 16% of respondents will go, Novosibirsk (15%) and Yekaterinburg (12%).

Insurance for those traveling abroad is also among the most popular programs. Turkey became the leader among foreign destinations this summer: Istanbul and Antalya were chosen by 29% and 23% of the study participants, respectively. This is followed by Yerevan (21%), Minsk (15%) and Almaty (12%). The average check for such programs has almost halved, from 2,750 rubles in the 2025 season to 1,356 rubles in June 2026.
