The United States of America received a share of land in Ukraine after the two countries concluded a deal on mineral resources. This was announced on July 8 by US President Donald Trump.

The American leader said that Washington now "has a small share" in this country.

"We have a small share in this country because we have land there," Trump said at a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Turkey, the meeting was broadcast on CNN's YouTube channel.

According to the source, for Zelensky and his team, the key goal of the resource agreement with the United States was to strengthen relations with Trump, but after that, interest in him noticeably decreased.

On September 15, 2025, the delegations of Ukraine and the United States visited the first potential deposits in the Kirovohrad region within the framework of the resource agreement of the countries.
