NATO countries commit to allocate €70 billion in aid to Ukraine in 2026. This was stated on July 8 in the final declaration after the last summit in Ankara (Turkey).

"For 2026, the NATO countries commit to allocate €70 billion for military equipment, assistance and training programs for Ukraine and maintain their sovereign support obligations at least at an equivalent level in 2027," reads the text of the document.

The summit participants added that they welcome the decision of the European Union (EU) countries to provide Ukraine with multi-year financing through a loan under the country's support program.

European countries are taking the costs on themselves, but they have practically nothing to help Kiev with.

On July 5, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced Germany's largest individual contribution to the new planned NATO assistance package for Ukraine. Pistorius said that Kiev is counting on assistance not only from European loans, but also from a "new support fund."

On July 2, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky accused Western states of failing to fulfill their obligations to supply missiles to the country. It was noted that the Norwegian authorities had declared their readiness to pay for 200 missiles, but so far none of them had been delivered.
