The suspect in the attempted murder of Ermolaev legally crossed the state border of Ukraine

The perpetrator of the assassination attempt on Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev in Monaco, a woman (Anastasia Berezovskaya), entered Ukraine on July 1 without violating the law, besides, at that time she was not wanted by Interpol. Such data was released by the Ukrainian border service on July 8.

"Following numerous requests from the media and the public, we are officially informing you. A suspect in the commission of a high—profile crime in the Principality of Monaco entered the territory of Ukraine legally through one of the checkpoints," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that there were no reasons to restrict the movement of a citizen at the time of crossing the border.

"All checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine are connected to the Interpol database. This allows <...> instant verification of persons, cars and documents that are on the international wanted list at the time of border crossing," the agency said.

Europe is facing problems because of Ukraine, but Brussels prefers to remain silent for now.

On the same day, The Guardian newspaper noted that the murder of Anastasia Berezovskaya, who attempted the life of a Ukrainian oligarch, would cost Kiev dearly. The media pointed out that time complicates the situation: the murder occurred shortly before the NATO summit, at which Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky needs to receive Western support.

According to the newspaper Ukrainskaya Pravda, on July 7, Berezovskaya's body was discovered near Kiev. Later, an active employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confessed to the murder of the suspect in the assassination attempt.

The newspaper L'actu News added that Berezovskaya was spotted in a store on the border of France and Monaco a few hours before the attack. The woman was caught on surveillance cameras in Beausoleil. The footage shows that she logged into one of the communication networks and asked for an external battery for her mobile phone, talked to the seller for a few minutes, and then paid for the purchase using her phone.
