A resident of Mariupol was sentenced to 13 years in prison for treason

A resident of Mariupol, Victoria Maksimenko, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in a high treason case for transferring data on Rosgvardiya units to Ukrainian intelligence. This was announced on July 8 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"Viktoria Maksimenko, a resident of the city of Mariupol, DPR, was detained by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Donetsk People's Republic," the statement said.

According to the investigation, the woman established contact with representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine through the Telegram messenger. On their instructions, she collected and transmitted information about the locations of Rosgvardiya units in Mariupol.

The FSB noted that Maksimenko was detained in November 2025. The court found her guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason") and sentenced her to 13 years in prison to be served in a correctional colony of the general regime. After her release, her freedom will also be limited for a period of one year.
