- Drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Krasnodar – Melitopol bus in the Zaporozhye region
Militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) attacked a passenger bus en route from Krasnodar to Melitopol. This was announced on July 8 by the Governor of the Zaporizhia region Evgeny Balitsky.
"On the highway of the Primorsky Municipal District, a regular passenger bus en route Krasnodar – Melitopol was attacked by an enemy UAV," he said in a message on the Maks messenger.
The head of the region clarified that there were 11 people in the cabin of the attacked vehicle, including two drivers. As a result of the incident, no one was injured. Everyone has been evacuated now.
The attack on the bus, according to Balitsky, is a blatant act of terrorism. He clarified that the strike was targeted. Such actions by Ukrainian militants, as explained by the governor, are a violation of international humanitarian law and another war crime of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Two days earlier, the acting governor of the Belgorod Region, Alexander Shuvaev, reported on another attack by Ukrainian drones on a passenger bus that was traveling along the Nikolskoye–Tavrovo highway. As a result of the incident, eight people were injured.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Yana Lantratova, said that she had sent an appeal to the UN in connection with this strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. She noted that as a result of the actions of the Ukrainian side, civilians, including children, were seriously injured again.
