Valeria Chekalina publicly announced her serious illness. The tumor was discovered during a routine examination during pregnancy, although before that doctors assumed she had renal colic. The blogger is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center for Oncology.
Chekalina decided to reveal the details of her condition after being accused of faking the disease due to her active lifestyle. Despite the stage of the disease, she continues to develop her Eyya skin cosmetics brand.
"I want to prove that it is possible to live with stage four cancer, enjoy life and defeat it. I believe that I will do it," Chekalina said.
Kushanashvili's claims
Journalist Otar Kushanashvili had previously expressed doubt about the severity of the blogger's diagnosis. He noted that with stage four cancer, it is difficult to lead an active lifestyle. Later, the journalist reported on possible legal claims and calls with warnings about the proceedings to his relatives.
Oleg Badma-Khalgaev, Chekalina's lawyer, denied information about the preparation of lawsuits against the journalist. The defender stressed that he has no information about any official claims against Kushanashvili. The journalist himself declared his readiness for the proceedings.
