- Rosobrnadzor told about the plans of students to retake at least one subject of the Unified State Exam
About 149,000 students plan to retake one exam subject on July 8th and 9th. This became known on July 8.
"In 2026, about 149,000 people applied to retake one of the subjects. Last year, about 143,000 EXAM participants applied for retake," the Rosobrnadzor press service said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
It is noted that graduates have the right to take advantage of the opportunity to retake one of the subjects of the Unified State Exam on July 8 and 9 — the choice of the subject remains with them. In this case, the result obtained on the previous exam in this discipline will be declared invalid.
On July 6, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov said that 9777 graduates were able to show the highest score of 100 points on the Unified State Exam in 2026. The head of the Russian Ministry of Education said that this year Russian graduates were able to demonstrate an unprecedented number of the highest results on the Unified State Exam.
In 2026, Moscow schoolgirl Ekaterina Malkova set an absolute record for the entire 25-year history of the Unified State Exam — she scored the maximum 500 points in five subjects. On June 29, the graduate shared with Izvestia details about her training, in which she focused on lessons and additional classes with teachers at school.
Some time later, on July 2, it became known that a record was also set in the Tyumen region for the number of graduates who scored the maximum 100 points on the Unified State Exam. Later, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Region, Tatarstan, the Krasnodar Territory and a number of other subjects of the Russian Federation were added to this region.
