The Moscow Arbitration Court dismissed the claim of blogger Ilya Varlamov (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent) to the capital's inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) No. 2. It follows from the materials available to Izvestia on July 7.

Varlamov asked to invalidate the decision, according to which he was held liable for intentional tax evasion in the amount of 13 million rubles. Operations on the blogger's bank accounts have been suspended.

In May, the Arbitration Court of the capital accepted a statement from a blogger who challenged the decision to hold him accountable for intentional tax evasion. Varlamov himself believes that the fine of 13 million rubles was charged unlawfully.

In August 2025, Varlamov was sentenced in absentia to eight years in a penal colony and a fine of 99.5 million rubles. He was found guilty of evading the duties of a foreign agent and publicly spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces.
