Pskov Museum will take part in the festival on Family Day

The Pskov Museum-Reserve will take part in the family festival "Everything starts with the family". It will be held at the Kurbatov Regional Library on July 8, the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity.

The Pskov news feed, with reference to the museum's press service, clarifies that on the site of the cultural institution, guests will be told about the traditions of Russian tea drinking. The focus is on Ivan Kulikov's painting "Tea Drinking in a peasant's Hut" from the collection of the Pskov Museum, painted at the beginning of the 20th century. It will be the key to a conversation about how several generations of a family united at one table.

The guests of the festival will be told what rules of ethics existed at the peasant tea table, how the samovar became a symbol of the hearth, and why tea drinking in Russia became a real family ritual. Those who wish will be given the opportunity to create a greeting card in the style of the XIX century with their own hands.

Earlier it was reported that a museum dedicated to the 90s of the XX century may appear in Pskov. The idea is already under development. It is planned to equip a disco area in the museum, where visitors will be able to play on video game consoles of that time.
