Roldugin's house arrest was extended until September 10.

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has extended the house arrest of Oleg Roldugin, a columnist for Novaya Gazeta. This was reported to Izvestia on July 7 in court.

It is noted that the preventive measure will be in effect until September 10.

In March 2022, Novaya Gazeta suspended its work after a second warning from Roskomnadzor (RCN) about the inadmissibility of violating Russian law. In September 2022, the Basmanny Court of Moscow revoked the media license of the printed version of Novaya Gazeta. At the same time, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation granted the RCN's claim and stripped Novaya Gazeta of its electronic media license. Thus, the legitimate activity of the publication was terminated.

The 17-year-old author of the stuffing admitted to Izvestia that no one in the opposition media had checked his inventions.

Searches in the editorial office of Novaya Gazeta were reported as early as April 9, 2026. 272.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal use of personal data"). The next day, the court arrested Roldugin at the request of the investigation. On May 4, the Moscow City Court upheld the conclusion in the Roldugin case. Soon after, Roldugin partially admitted his guilt on the charges. At the same time, during the meeting, he explained that he needed to monitor disabled parents and three children.
