The State Duma adopted a draft law on the right of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to approve lists of professions for migrants

The State Duma adopted in the final reading the law on the transfer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation of the Ministry of Labor's powers to approve the lists of professions of qualified foreign specialists. The relevant document was published on July 7 on the Internet portal of the legislative support system.

According to the law, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will determine the lists of professions of qualified foreign citizens who will be able to obtain a residence permit in Russia in a simplified manner, as well as work without taking into account quotas set by the Ministry of Labor at the request of the regions.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in coordination with the Ministry of Labor, will have the right to allow foreigners and stateless persons temporarily staying in Russia to work not only in the region where they were granted a work permit or temporary residence, but also in other regions of the country. Economic ties between the Territories will be taken into account when making decisions.

The goal of the initiative in the State Duma was to strengthen state control over labor migration and restore order in this area through the centralization of management in the law enforcement agency.Газета.Ru ".

Back in May, the Russian government submitted to the State Duma a bill providing for the transfer to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation of part of the powers of the Ministry of Labor in the field of regulating labor migration. The Interior Ministry will also have the right to determine cases in which foreigners temporarily staying in the country will be able to work outside the region where they were granted a work permit.
