Patrushev at the meeting discussed the availability of fuel for farmers

A harvesting campaign has started in Russia. This was announced on July 7 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting dedicated to seasonal field work. It was attended by heads of relevant departments, heads of regions, as well as representatives of industry companies.

Farmers across the country are now taking to the fields to harvest crops, on which the country's food security largely depends. At the same time, the focus is on the provision of agricultural producers with material and technical resources.

"The harvesting campaign has started in Russia. Harvesting has started in 16 regions. At the moment, more than 4.5 million tons of grain have already been harvested. I would like to note that the work is proceeding in accordance with agrotechnological deadlines and, most importantly, the yield is now higher than last year. At the same time, spring sowing can actually be considered completed, so let's discuss its preliminary results today, including the execution of the structure of the acreage. And, of course, let's talk about preparing for the mass harvest. The key issue is the availability of resources for farmers, primarily fuel. At the moment, the situation is manageable. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy monitor fuel supplies for seasonal field work on a daily basis. Additional measures are being taken if necessary," Dmitry Patrushev said.

During the meeting, it was noted that in parallel with harvesting, it is already necessary to prepare resources for winter sowing. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, all planned measures should be implemented in a timely manner.

The president spoke about the difficult situation in the oil refining market, which can correct the situation.

At the end of June, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation announced that the harvesting campaign in Russia was proceeding normally, despite the influence of weather factors in certain regions. It is expected that the resulting harvest will fully meet the domestic needs of the country and preserve the export potential of Russian grain.
