Traffic jams formed in Iran's Qom amid funeral procession for Ali Khamenei

In the Iranian city of Qom, where the funeral procession for the assassinated supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, is taking place. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on June 7.

"There were traffic jams before entering the city. Everyone is going to say goodbye to Ali Khamenei. A crowd, a huge crowd is walking along the side of the road, along the roadway," said Alexey Poltoranin, a correspondent for Izvestia.

Many of the participants brought the national flags of Iran with them to the ceremony. There are also slogans about revenge and red flags symbolizing it.

In Tehran, Iran, on July 6, those who died during the US airstrike on February 28 were buried at the Imamzade Saleh mosque-mausoleum. A relative of the deceased secretary of the Defense Council, Ali Shamkhani, noted that the Americans had caused great pain to the Iranian people. A resident of Iran named Malie said that the country deeply mourns the death of Ali Khamenei and will seek retribution.

A multi-kilometer funeral procession stretched through the streets of Tehran. According to the forecasts of the country's authorities, at least 15 million people are taking part in the event. Azadi Square, where the coffin with the Ayatollah's body was delivered, turned out to be completely filled, while people continued to arrive.
