The International Forum of Unmanned Vehicles of All Environments "Wings of Sakhalin", which was held on July 3-4 in the Sakhalin Region, was attended by representatives of government authorities, business and the expert community, including from Saudi Arabia, China and Japan. As part of the business program, the parties discussed issues related to the future of unmanned systems in Russia, security, training specialists for the needs of the industry and international cooperation. The event is a visiting venue of the Eastern Economic Forum.

"Unmanned systems are not only a tool, they are a new development philosophy. For Russia, with its vast territories, complex logistics and unique challenges, this is a strategic priority, especially in the Far East. Sakhalin has become a platform where unmanned technologies prove their practical importance. Here we are not just experimenting — we are creating a working ecosystem of drones. We are open to cooperation, ready to share our experience and learn from the best. I am confident that together we will make the Far East the leader of the unmanned revolution in Russia and create an economy that works for people," said Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region.

On the sidelines of the forum, important cooperation agreements were signed between the region and the Association of Operators and Developers of Autonomous Systems National Autonomous Systems and PJSC United Aircraft Corporation. The agreements will make it possible to improve the development of the industry, in particular, in the field of production and operation of unmanned off-airfield transport systems, as well as the introduction of autonomous complexes, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure on Sakhalin.

The key event of the Forum was the plenary session "Sakhalin — the international testing ground for unmanned technologies: from a regional experiment to a global technological partnership." The experts discussed a wide range of topics, including the achievement of technological leadership within the framework of the national project "Unmanned Aircraft Systems", the Sakhalin experiment on creating an open "digital sky" for business, the tasks of international cooperation and the development of infrastructure based on the Fluffy drone port.

"The status of the WEF exit site has provided Sakhalin Wings with a reliable base for achieving large-scale goals. Thanks to the authoritative composition of the participants, it was possible to discuss a wide range of issues on the topic of unmanned systems and strengthen public-private partnership. This comprehensive approach successfully integrates the island's advanced technological projects into the overall modernization agenda of both the Far East and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole," said Igor Pavlov, First Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.

Eight thematic sessions were also held as part of the business program, during which flight safety, anti-drone protection and the integration of UAVs into the logistics of the Far East were discussed. In addition, the experts reviewed personnel issues, including youth involvement, as well as economic models for the use of drones in industry, the oil and gas sector, emergency monitoring, aviation and marine logistics.

The forum's program included an exhibition of innovative solutions for unmanned aircraft, robotics, training and monitoring systems, the "Take Off!" festival and drone racing competitions. In addition, the event included tests of the Drone ID service for real-time identification of civilian drones in the absence of cellular communications, flight demonstrations of personal electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, and exercises to detect and eliminate threats in three environments: on land, in the air, and at sea. A number of agreements were also signed. 17 companies presented their developments, including 3 educational projects.

The Wings of Sakhalin International Forum was held at the Sakhalin Expo site, located at the Fluffy droneport, with the support of the Roscongress Foundation. The International Forum "Islands of Sustainable Development: Climate and Ecology" and the 30th International Far Eastern Energy Forum "Sakhalin Energy" will be held here on July 30-31. Both events will also be held in the status of the WEF visiting venue.

The XI Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 1-4 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
