A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of forces has taken more advantageous positions and frontiers. Ukrainian formations in the Kharkiv region and the DPR were defeated. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 200 soldiers, seven armored combat vehicles, five of them Western-made, 15 vehicles and an artillery piece.

The military personnel of the southern group of forces improved their tactical position and hit the enemy in the areas of the DPR settlements. The enemy lost more than 165 militants, three armored combat vehicles, 13 vehicles and four field artillery pieces, including a 155 mm Paladin self-propelled artillery system manufactured by the United States. Two electronic warfare (EW) stations were destroyed.

The units of the Center group of forces improved the tactical situation, and also hit the Ukrainian formations in the DPR and the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 310 people, two armored combat vehicles and four vehicles. Five electronic warfare stations were destroyed.

The Vostok group of troops continued to move into the depth of the enemy's defenses. Ukrainian Armed Forces units were also defeated in a number of settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. The enemy lost more than 455 soldiers, five armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles and an artillery piece.

The fighters of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the formations of the Armed Forces brigades in the areas of populated areas of the Zaporizhia region. Up to 55 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters, eight vehicles and three electronic warfare stations were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 153 districts.

Nine guided aerial bombs and 811 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 175506 unmanned aerial vehicles, 664 anti-aircraft missile systems, 30048 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1754 multiple rocket launchers, 35666 field artillery guns and mortars, 65761 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
