Experts have named popular summer vacation destinations for Russians in 2026

Russian tourists are more likely to choose Turkey and China for holidays this summer, while interest in Italy has almost halved due to visa delays. This was reported to Izvestia on July 8 by analysts of the OneTwoTrip online booking service.

Turkey retains its leadership among foreign destinations: the share of bookings increased by 11% and reached 15.6% this season. Istanbul accounts for the main flow of tourists — 59% of bookings, and among the seaside resorts there is a noticeable increase in the popularity of Kasha (2.5%), while the share of Antalya decreased to 9.7%, Belek — to 2.1%.

"Reducing the average check has significantly expanded the possibilities of travelers when choosing accommodation in favor of more budget options, making it even more profitable to plan a vacation," OneTwoTrip noted.

China took the second place, the share of bookings increased by 25% to 7.3%. The main attention of tourists is focused on Shanghai (33.1%), Beijing (21.7%) and Guangzhou (13.8%). Belarus also retains a stable interest of Russians with a share of 6.0%, the majority book Minsk (79.6%), followed by Brest (6.2%) and Grodno (4.5%).

Russian citizens often prefer the countries of South-East Asia.

The most noticeable decline in popularity was noted in Italy: the share of bookings fell by almost half to 5.2%. Tourists began to choose Rome (25.2%), Milan (19.8%) and Venice (7.2%) more often, while Rimini left the top three.

Georgia closes the top 5 with a share of 4.6% (+10% compared to last year). There is a shift in interest in seaside and mountain resorts within the country.: Batumi grew by 22% to 26.9%, Stepantsminda — by 15% to 3.0%, and Tbilisi decreased by almost 10% to 56.7%.

Oksana Vlasenko, an expert at the OnlineTours package tour booking service, said on June 13 that in summer Russians are increasingly choosing foreign destinations that do not require a visa in advance. The priority remains countries with convenient logistics, short flights and the ability to quickly organize a vacation without unnecessary formalities.
