More than 33,000 young professionals graduated from Moscow City colleges in 2026. The number of graduates increased by 10% compared to a year earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted on his personal blog channel in the Maks messenger.

"In recent years, we have radically changed the content of secondary vocational education — about 70% of the study time is occupied by real practice, which takes place on the latest equipment and directly on the sites of future employers," the head of the capital wrote in his blog. Sobyanin stressed that "thanks to this, ready-made, self-confident professionals come out of the walls of colleges."

According to the mayor, two thirds of graduates started working during their studies. The most popular area of training has become nursing. This year, Moscow colleges have graduated almost 4.1 thousand qualified medical workers, who will join the teams of city hospitals and polyclinics. More than 2.7 thousand graduates have received specialties in the field of programming and information systems.

In addition, in 2026, for the first time, information modeling specialists in construction received diplomas. Many of them started working during their studies in large design bureaus and construction companies. According to Sobyanin, today it is one of the highest-paid areas of the construction industry.

Also, for the first time, the capital's colleges have trained machine tool and equipment adjusters in mechanical processing. Graduates have mastered several qualifications at once, including the professions of turning, milling, machine operator with software control and equipment adjuster.

As the Mayor of Moscow noted, the updated system of secondary vocational education focuses on practical training: students spend about 70% of their academic time at modern production sites and partner enterprises. This approach allows graduates to adapt to work faster and start a professional career during their studies.
