Four Russian cyclists will compete at the European Championships in Germany

The European Track Cycling Championships among juniors and underachievers (U23s) will be held in Cottbus, Germany, from July 7 to 12. The national team will include four athletes in the sprint disciplines: Nikita Bykovsky, Igor Girilovich, Ekaterina Evlanova and Victoria Luchina.

The upcoming championship will be one of the most important starts of the season. As of July 1, the International Cycling Union (UCI) has again allowed neutral athletes to compete in team disciplines. Therefore, at the championship, racers will compete for medals in the team and individual sprints, keirin and gita for 1000 meters.

For Nikita Bykovsky, this tournament will be his international debut in a new age category.

In addition to the sprint disciplines, the championship program includes team pursuit, omnium, Madison and time trial. The racers intend to compete for high places and show their best seconds on the European stage.
