- Platforms for people with limited mobility will be installed in houses in the west of Moscow
This year, 26 lifting platforms for people with limited mobility will be installed in apartment buildings in the Western Administrative District of Moscow. Work is being carried out at the request of residents in entrances where wheelchair users live. This was announced on July 6 on the website of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
"By now, six platforms have already been installed. 11 lifts are being installed. After the completion of the survey and design, it is planned to start work in nine more entrances," said Evgeny Adamov, Deputy head of the Moscow Department of Capital Repairs.
According to him, the largest number of lifts will appear in Novo-Peredelkin — seven platforms, in Troparevo-Nikulin — five, in Krylatskoye and Solntsevo — three each. Two platforms will be installed in Filevsky Park, Ochakovo-Matveevskoye and Fili-Davydkovo districts, and one each in Kuntsevo and Ramenki.
Modern residential buildings are initially designed taking into account the needs of people with limited mobility, however, stairs are often located in old buildings between the entrance to the entrance and the elevator. Special lifting platforms are installed to provide an accessible environment.
It is noted that the technical feasibility of the installation is determined by interdepartmental commissions, after which they develop a project and undergo an expert examination. If conditions allow, vertical mini-elevator platforms up to 4 m high are installed, and if there is not enough space, inclined lifts along the staircases are installed. If technically possible, separate entrances to the entrance with a ramp will also be equipped.
Simultaneously with the installation of platforms, other works are being carried out to create a barrier-free environment: ramps and handrails are being installed at the entrance, doors with closers are being installed that disabled people can open remotely. The process of lifting and descending is remotely controlled by the dispatcher for safety, which also eliminates the use of lifts for other purposes.
To install the platform, you must submit an application on the website of the Moscow Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population through the "Online reception" section. This will require permanent registration in the capital and a medical recommendation on the use of a wheelchair.
Izabella Lieberman, a member of the party, a war correspondent and a public figure, told Izvestia at the All-Russian Forum of Patients, which the Liberal Democratic Party held on June 19 in Moscow, that she had proposed expanding the list of military injuries and their consequences taken into account when determining disability to participants in a special military operation. It was noted that the Liberal Democratic Party insists on introducing a separate procedure for assessing the consequences of mine-explosion injuries as the most common and "insidious" type of combat damage.
