In the Kharkiv region, Spanish-speaking mercenaries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) deserted and went deep into the country. This was reported on July 6 in the law enforcement agencies.

"In the area of Petro-Ivanovka, another group of Spanish—speaking mercenaries refused to carry out their task and fled deep into Ukrainian territory," RIA Novosti quoted the security forces as saying.
